Does the mockery and jeering of the public prevent me from having my thoughts?

Were everyone to call that which I learned and presented as a “less credible—and frankly, fatuous—take on Marxist1 philosophy, built on a random assortment of books collected in magpie fashion” 2, I should still desire to think and build a viewpoint of my own3.

I’d also strive to come up with original and clever insults that destroy someone’s opinion utterly and effectively without addressing a single point
