The branding of yore
I have always been averse to the idea of self-branding, but as I grow older, I realize how much self-promotion and branding are going on around me.
These days all I can see is humans marketing ourselves with brands, logos and pre-crafted opinions. I would like to believe that the phisicists of old did not worry about branding or peer approval, but I think that’s probably untrue.
The main difference between now and the past is that the tools of self-promotion and advertising have become more available and common place for everyone to use. Thus is progress.
Notes
- I can no longer look at a person’s actions without asking “why?”
- I like to believe that Nietzsche would have taken to twitter like a shark and that Kant would have been cancelled immediately
